welcome to liz brown reflexology
Reflexology is the technique of applying gentle pressure to the reflex points on the feet, face or hands in order to help to bring about a state of deep relaxation and help a person return to a state of balance and wellbeing. Reflexology is a holistic treatment - in other words it treats the whole person, rather than focusing on the symptoms alone.
Whether you suffer from insomnia, migraines, digestive problems or fatigue, the root of many health problems can be linked to stress. If you would like to spend some time relaxing, focusing on yourself and your wellbeing and boosting your immune system then reflexology is for you!
I believe in the benefits of reflexology for the mind, body and spirit, so if you live in Church Crookham, Fleet, Farnborough, Aldershot, Farnham or elsewhere in Surrey or Hampshire please get in touch to discuss how it could help you.

What happens during a reflexology session?
Sessions start with a short medical and lifestyle consultation and agreement of any particular areas of focus. I will then ask you to remove you shoes and socks and make yourself comfortable on the relaxing reflexology chair. I will recline the chair, cover you with a blanket to keep you warm, and then start with a foot massage to help you relax, before working over your feet in a systematic way, using massage, compression and "thumb walking" techniques to work over the reflex points. The session will conclude with review and feedback.

How might I feel during the session?
You are likely to feel very relaxed and it is not uncommon to fall asleep! As your body relaxes you might start to feel a little cold, and very occasionally you might feel restless, shaky or nauseous as your body reacts to the release of toxins, and the rebalance of your energy. However, these feelings are likely to subside quickly.

How might I feel after the session?
The effects of reflexology are unique to each person. Most people experience a sense of well-being and relaxation, and some find it uplifting and energising. Whatever reactions you experience, they are part of the healing process and will pass.
You may feel one of the following effects:
- Thirsty
- Emotional
- Mild tiredness or lethargy
- Increased desire to urinate
- Runny nose

How many sessions might I need?
Some people might experience immediate improvements from their symptoms, for example reflexology might help someone with insomnia sleep better after just one session; whilst others may require a series of sessions to experience a difference in symptoms, e.g. someone who has been suffering with prolonged migraines. We can discuss this during your first appointment. However, it is likely that a series of sessions will be required to make a significant change in your condition, and you may therefore choose to visit once a week until you experience a consistent improvement in your condition, progressing to monthly treatments to help support your mind, body and spirit.
